This plant is seen along coastal clifftops and in heathland areas, it is a small shrub to 1m but can grow into dense thickets. Leaves often appear limp and drooping but will recover quickly after good rain. The leaf surface is grey-green and heavily veined, the undersurface is white with rust coloured hairs. Leaves are linear - long and slender, up to 8cm long by 0.5cm wide, and the edges are curved over.
