Anagallis arvensis

Scarlet pimpernel has weak sprawling stems which bear small bright green leaves in opposite pairs. The small orange, red or blue flowers are produced in the leaf axils from spring to autumn.

The native range for this species is Europe, Western Asia and north Africa however it now occurs almost worldwide. This species is a relatively common weed of the Jan Juc to Bells clifftops.
