Boobialla
Myoporum insulare

A common sight along the coastline, Boobialla varies in growth from a low growing shrub in coastal dunes, to a tree up to 7 metres high in sheltered coastal sites. Great as a green screen in the garden and can be shaped easily, but dead material needs to be maintained. Responds well to pruning and is good as a wind break.

Leaves are succulent, light or dark green green and glossy with smooth margins or sometime toothed towards the tip. Clusters of up to 8 white flowers with purple spots at the base are followed by purple / black berries which are eaten by birds.

Can be propagated easily by cuttings of the new seasons growth.
